There were no incidences recorded of vandalisation of any kind of place of worship and its conversion into any other kind of place of worship by construction the same on the ruins of prior.
यह कानून 1991 में लागू किया गया था। इसका मुख्य उद्देश्य था कि भारत में मौजूद सभी पूजा स्थलों (जैसे मंदिर, मस्जिद, गुरुद्वारा, जैन तीर्थ, बौद्ध विहार, आदिवासी पूजा स्थल आदि) का धार्मिक स्वरूप वैसा ही रहे, जैसा वह 15 अगस्त, 1947 को था। यानी, इस तारीख के बाद किसी पूजा स्थल को किसी अन्य धर्म के पूजा स्थल में नहीं बदला जा सकता।
